Toward the Reconstruction Male Sexuality: A Prescription for the Future

As we noted in the Introduction, some readers may consider this book an effort to fix something that isn't really broken. They will see it as an attack on men and an effort to deprive them of their most valued characteristics. Others will concur with our view of contemporary male sexuality, but will exhort us to accept these problems as part of biological or evolutionary reality. They will urge us to accept and celebrate men's sexual "quirks"; they may believe women should loosen up and take on male sexual habits. Finally, there will be readers who share our concerns but worry that changes are foolhardy without realistic alternatives to replace what will be lost.
